Nashville, I'm playing the late set at The Five Spot this Tuesday night May 1st, from around 11:30pm. It's our drummer Chief's last gig with us before he moves to Cleveland so come on down and help us send him off in style.

I'm playing the late show at The Five Spot in Nashville, TN, this Tuesday May 1st, from about midnight. It's Two Dollar Tuesday though, so get there earlier at 9:30pm and check out some great music.
It's our drummer Matt Schieferstein's last gig before moving to Cleveland, so it'll be fun times, albeit with a melancholy air.

Happy Birthday to Ann Peebles, one of the best female singers to record for Hi Records in Memphis. She is best known for her singles, "I Can't Stand The Rain" and "I'm Gonna Tear Your Playhouse Down", which she wrote with husband Don Bryant and Bernard "Bernie" Miller.

Lest We Forget.

My paternal Grandfather was stationed at Port Moresby airfield as an anti-aircraft gunner during World War II, and my Nana served in the Australian Women's Auxiliary Corps. My maternal Grandfather was a conscientious objector, as was my Grandma. I'm extremely proud of them all.

RIP Chris Ethridge.

Chris Ethridge, who died yesterday, April 23rd, was a co-founder and the original bass player of The Flying Burrito Brothers, and played bass on one of my favourite records ever, their 1969 release "The Gilded Palace Of Sin". He also co-wrote with Gram Parsons my two favourite songs from that record, "Hot Burrito #1", and "Hot Burrito #2".

There are new gigs up in the gig guide!
That's right, in a few weeks I'll be back out on the road, kicking off in Florida and winding my way up through the Carolinas, Virginia, and even the nation's capital before coming back through East Tennessee. Check it out by clicking on the gig guide tab up above.

Words cannot express how much I think of this man as one of the greatest musicians ever, and one of my biggest inspirations. The man was seemingly made from music. He will be greatly missed. I am sorry I never got to see him in person.
