Thanks to everyone who came out to the Dowse Bar last night, it was a great round with great songs from Clare Reynolds and Steven Ryan.

I'm playing there again this Sunday December 11th, but this time it'll be my very own set, with support from the mighty Luke Sullivan. It's gonna kick off at 5:00pm, so come down and check out my last show for the year, and in all likelihood my last show in Australia before I head back to the USA.

Tonight, Wednesday December 7th, I will be playing at the Dowse Bar in Brisbane as part of "Songwriters In The Round". It kicks off around 8:00pm...

This is a close up of my new custom made Simon Ramsey Guitar, taken at the Brisbane Powerhouse show last weekend. It's so pretty.
This week I've got two Brisbane shows, and both are pretty different, even though they are at the same venue, The Dowse Bar in Paddington. Wednesday December 7th I am playing as part of "Songwriters In The Round", where I'll be sharing the stage with some great Brisbane songwriters from around 8:00pm. Then on Sunday December 11th I'll be playing my own set with support from one of my favourite songwriters and performers, Luke Sullivan, who's kicking things off at 5:00pm. Both of them will be awesome, and most likely extremely different.

Here's a shot from yesterday's show at Brisbane Powerhouse, featuring yours truly, Hannah Macklin and Chloe Turner. Thanks to everyone who came along, we sure had a great time.

Don't panic if you missed it (even though it was pretty special, I must say), as I have two more shows in Brisbane this week. They are both at The Dowse Bar in Paddington on Wednesday December 7th and Sunday December 11th. Wednesday's show is a songwriter round, while Sunday's will be my own set, and will also feature a set from my good friend Luke Sullivan. Don't miss them.

This is luthier Simon Ramsey playing the guitar he made for me in his living room in Canberra, Australia. I'll be playing this guitar today, Sunday December 4th, at Brisbane Powerhouse's Live Spark concert series. Making guest appearances will be Hannah Macklin and Chloe Turner, and it kicks off at 3:30pm with a set from The Swamp Dandies.

Here's a song from last week's show at The Empress in Melbourne, featuring Dave Rogers on Bass and Dave Klenyjans on the drums. Big thanks to Russell Boyd for capturing this on film.

This Sunday December 4th I will be performing at Brisbane Powerhouse's Live Spark concert series, which will kick off at 3:30pm with a set from The Swamp Dandies. I'll be playing my brand new Simon Ramsey guitar, and I'm thrilled to also say that joining me onstage for a few songs will be Miss Chloe Turner and Miss Hannah Macklin. It's going to be a great concert.

Here's a quite amusing overview of the history of the English Language, just in case you weren't aware of it.

In other news, I'm doing a concert at the Brisbane Powerhouse this Sunday December 4th from 3:30pm, which is the debut performance of my new guitar, an original by luthier Simon Ramsey. The show will also feature some special guests singing with me, details of which I'll reveal tomorrow...

In other, other news, I'm very proud to be a Queenslander by heritage today, as last night our State Government passed a bill to legalise same-sex civil unions, a big step forward against discrimination.

This is luthier Simon Ramsey in his workshop in Canberra, Australia. Simon made a beautiful guitar for me, which I'll be performing with for the first time this Sunday December 4th at Brisbane Powerhouse's Live Spark concert series.

This is a bit of an old photo, but I found it in the archives the other day so thought I'd share it. It's from when I played on the "King Biscuit Time" Radio show in Helena, Arkansas. "King Biscuit Time" is one of the longest running radio shows in the world, and regularly featured Sonny Boy Williamson, Robert Lockwood, and other legendary blues performers playing live on air every weekday from 12:15 to 12:45pm. It was called "King Biscuit Time" after its major sponsor, King Biscuit Flour Company.

This Sunday December 4th from 3:30pm, I'll be playing live at Brisbane Powerhouse for Live Spark. It's a free event, and I'll be doing my first performance with my brand new one-of-a-kind Simon Ramsey nylon-string guitar. New songs, special guests, and good times...

This Sunday, December 4th, I will be playing a very special gig, which will be the world premiere performance of a guitar that was actually made for me by Simon Ramsey. It will be at Live Spark at Brisbane Powerhouse from 3:30pm, and there'll be some special guests along too.

Yup, that's me filling in on bass for my buddy Saul Jarvie and his band Microflora, who launched their debut vinyl single last night at Long Play in Fitzroy North.
