This week is the birthday week of my dear friend Montmorensy (a.k.a. Paul Hankinson), who is something of a genius. He resides in Berlin, Germany, and if you're over there you might be fortunate enough to catch one of his shows.

This is one of the best covers of a Whitney Houston song that I've heard, and I'm not being biased just because it's being performed by my friends Montmorensy and Damian Rebgetz, with the Montmorensy Orchestra. It's really, really good.

I never personally owned any Whitney Houston records, but there is no denying that she was an incredible singer and extraordinary talent. When I was in Grade 4 and 5 at primary school, I distinctly remember all the girls in my class liking Whitney Houston, and she was on high rotation at the local roller-skating rink as well, which was probably where I first heard her music. RIP.
