Happy Birthday to Ann Peebles, one of the best female singers to record for Hi Records in Memphis. She is best known for her singles, "I Can't Stand The Rain" and "I'm Gonna Tear Your Playhouse Down", which she wrote with husband Don Bryant and Bernard "Bernie" Miller.

GIGS, GIGS, GIGS!
Nashville, this Tuesday April 3rd, I am playing for you as part of the lineup at Two Dollar Tuesdays at The Five Spot in East Nashville from 9:30pm. Gonna tear it up, stitch it together, then tear it up again.
Then on Wednesday April 4th, I'll be heading to Oxford, MS, and playing The grand old Snack Bar from 9:30pm, alongside Miss Elli Perry from New Orleans.
Then on Thursday April 5th, the poster you see above is promoting a show I'm doing in Memphis, TN, at The Buccaneer Lounge from 9:30pm alongside Aron Shiers and Elli Perry. Saddle up.

Strings
I just spent the last two days at Ardent Studios in Memphis helping my good friend Aron Shiers record a few tracks for his upcoming debut release. It's been great and I'm sure you'll all like the results.
I'm going to be heading out on the southern roads again with Aron in August, and will be posting some dates up soon, so keep an eye on the gig guide.
In the meantime, I'm heading back to New York City soon, and will be playing a couple of solo shows there in a couple of weeks. Check the gig guide for details.

Last
This Wednesday June 15th will be the last show of the Southern Ties tour with Aron Shiers, which has seen us travel and play through Mississippi, Louisiana, Florida, Alabama and Tennessee. It's been a blast. Come on down to Neil's Music Room in Memphis, TN, on Wednesday for a special set with me and Aron that will see us play together and alternate songs in a special edition of Neil's 'Bar Stars'. If you like both of us and our music, then you'll be in for a treat.
