Rustic
Here's a shot of me during my set at The Pour House last night. Thanks to everyone that came down to see us. It was a good time, to be sure...
Tonight, Aron Shiers and I are opening up for the Tildon Gillum Band and South Forty at The Rustic Cowboy, in Keithville, LA. We'll be on from 9:00pm so come early...
Then it's on to New Orleans... Oh boy.
Pour House
Tonight, Friday August 5th, Aron Shiers and I are playing at The Pour House in Vicksburg, MS, on the banks of the mighty Mississippi. We'll be kicking off from about 9:00pm or so.
Last time we were in Vicksburg the Mississippi had flooded, partially submerging the downtown train station shown here in the photo. I hope the water's gone down since then.
Lazarus
Thanks to all those who came out in Oxford last night to see us. We had a great time at The Snack Bar and it was great to meet some new people, as always.
Our next show is at The Pour House, in Vicksburg, MS, this Friday night August 5th.It's going to be a big one. Vicksburg is my touring buddy Aron Shiers' hometown.
So, my car just stopped running yesterday on the interstate on the way to Oxford via Memphis, so rolled into the service station (inappropriately named, as they didn't sell gas) and waited for two hours for roadside service to come get me. After half an hour, I thought I'd try and start her up again, just out of curiosity, and to my surprise, it seemed to be fine. Not wanting to break down on the interstate again, though, I got it towed for 100 miles to my friends place in Walnut, where I was going to leave it and get picked up to go to the show, which was still two hours away (lucky I left early). However, when we took my car off the tow truck (the drivers name was Ricky - nice guy) my car started fine and then proceeded to drive around the parking lot without incident. I thought I'd risk it and drove the 40 miles or so from Walnut to Oxford, and the car never drove better. It still drove fine today, which is frustrating, as I can't take it to the shop if it's not broken.
I blame my newly fixed air-conditioning, as it always ran fine before that. Looks like I'll just have to drive 1950s style with all the windows open. I got no problem with that. One thing's for sure though, I should learn more about how cars work. I always think that everytime I open the bonnet/hood.
