Darlings

The Experiment has some more shows coming up in a few weeks:

Sunday Sept 17th at The Grace Darling with Roadhouses (SYD - Album Launch). $10, 8:30pm. Come join us as we join our friends Roadhouses from Sydney as they launch a new record, and we launch off into space. You'll like them - they are the dive bar part of your mind on quaaludes.

Tuesday September 26th sees us at The Drunken Poet, where we are going to cast aside our own material in favour of playing an entire set of our own versions of songs by Morrissey and The Smiths. It's part of the Drunken Poet's tribute series, and we choose Moz. Free Entry, and music kicks off at 8:00pm.

Advance

We had a pretty darn good time in Adelaide. Our next show coming up will be Friday August 18th at The Retreat Hotel in Brunswick, also one of our favourite venues. This time we'll be joined by Al Carr and The Strong Arm, who will be launching their brand new album 'Gutter Truth' at the gig! It's an extra reason to come along, if you needed one. Another reason is it's free entry, with music kicking off shortly after 8:00pm.

Grace

The Chris Pickering Experiment heads over to Adelaide soon for a show at one of Australia's greatest live music venues, The Grace Emily on Saturday July 29th. Joining us will be local folk-pop darlings Autumn Passage and local legend Cookie Baker. The Experiment hasn't played over in Adelaide ever, and the last time I played there was some years ago, so we're looking to have a big one. Tickets are $15 on the door, and everything kicks off at 9:00pm.

Summit

The next CP Experiment show will be at The Pinnacle in Fitzroy North on Friday July 8th. Two cosmic sets from 8:30pm.

In late July, we are very excited to say we'll be playing in Adelaide for the first time in a long time. It'll be a headlining set at The Grace Emily, and also playing on the night will be locals Autumn Passage and the irreparable Cookie Baker. You can catch us there at the Grace on Saturday July 29th, with music kicking off at around 8:30pm, and only a $15 cover.

Quality

This weekend The Experiment and I play a gig in our hometown of Melbourne at the old faithful Standard Hotel in Fitzroy on Sunday June 11th. We'll be playing two sets from 7:00pm, and it's a long weekend too, so we may stretch it out a little.

A big thank you to everyone who came out to our Brisbane shows last weekend - it was great to see many new faces along with some familiar ones. It was a privilege and an honour to play with Dana Gehrman and Ruby Gilbert as well. We'll be back up there before long, hopefully.

Brisbane

This coming weekend, The Experiment and I are heading up to Brisbane for a couple of shows. On Friday June 2nd we'll be playing our full set, replete with extended forms and guitar solos aplenty, at The Milk Factory in West End, alongside the great talent of Dana Gehrman. This will be kicking off at about 8:30pm or so, with a measly admission fee of $10 for what is really a heck of a lot of live music.

Then, on Sunday afternoon June 4th, we play a shorter set at Brisbane Powerhouse as part of their long-running Live Spark series on the Turbine Platform. Shorter it may be, but no less dynamic. Also playing will be Ruby Gilbert, who kicks off proceedings at 3:30pm, with us following at 4:30pm.

Gin

Our next Experiment show is going to be amidst the Dandenong ranges at Gin Lane in Belgrave on Saturday May 27th. Also playing will be the delightful Cookie Baker, and I'll be joining her for a few songs as well. It's free entry, and will be kicking off around 9:00pm.

Labour

Next show for the Experiment will be at The Labour in Vain in Fitzroy on Sunday May 14th - two sets from 5:00-7:00pm. We'll also be heading up to Brisbane at the beginning of June to play a show at The Milk Factory on June 2nd, with support TBC. It's one of the only times we'll be in Brisbane this year, so please come along and join us.

My album 'Canyons' also recently received a review in Rhythms Magazine, which is excellent. Check it out below.

Tago

What a fun time we had up in Sydney and Maitland playing some shows and getting up to mischief. Thanks to everyone who came out to see us play, and to the Camelot Lounge and Grand Junction Hotel for being such wonderful hosts. We'll be back up that way again before the end of the year.

Our next show is coming up soon, and will be back in Melbourne at Tago Mago in Thornbury on Friday March 31st. Joining us on the bill is D.G. Gray & Co., and Matt Glass. Only $7 entry, and a wild time to be had.
