Standard

Our next show is on Sunday July 24th at The Standard in Fitzroy. It's a great venue, and we're doing two sets from 7:00pm. I'll be the guy onstage fooling around with a guitar.

I've also got some pretty exciting news coming up regarding album release and launch shows! Stay tuned...

Bounds

I'm pretty stoked that my next show is going to be a part of The Leaps and Bounds Festival, staged by the Yarra Council over the next couple of weeks. On Tuesday July 12th, I'll be playing a few songs solo as part of one of two Songwriter nights at The Gasometer Hotel, and on the night I play I'll be joined by Alice Skye, Amaya Laucirica, Arun Roberts (Dirt Hand), Bob Harrow (Immigrant Union), Emily Ulman, Fiona Lee Maynard, Jack Howard, Jim Lawrie, and Laura Imbruglia. It'll be a great night of songwriter rounds, and some of the best local talent on display too.

I'll be doing another DJ set a couple of days after that too, at The Catfish in Fitzroy on Thursday July 14th from 8:00-11:00pm or thereabouts. Come and hear me spin some Blues, Psychedelica, Krautrock Jams, and music of the Sahara.

After that, my next show with the Experiment will be at The Standard in Fitzroy on Sunday July 24th. Two sets, no regrets.

Also, a very big thanks to the mighty Rockdogs FC for having me along at the Community Cup over last weekend. It's great to be part of such a magnificent team, and it was a great victory to boot.

Leaps

Things just keep rolling on. Plans are being finalised for an album release later this year, so keep watching this space for more details on that.

My next show is on July 12th for the Leaps And Bounds Music Festival, as part of their 'Songwriters in the Round' series. I'll just be playing a few songs in a solo setting as part of a collection of great local songwriters, so it's a real privilege to join them onstage. The lineup for that night will be:

Alice Skye
Amaya Laucirica
Arun Roberts (Dirt Hand)
Bob Harrow (Immigrant Union)
Chris Pickering
Emily Ulman
Fiona Lee Maynard
Jack Howard
Jim Lawrie
Laura Imbruglia

Get your tickets for that show form the Leaps and Bounds website.

The Experiment will be saddling up again for another gig on Sunday July 24th at The Standard in Fitzroy. It's one of my favourite bars, so that should be a fun time.

Deejay

Our next headline show is going to be at The Retreat Hotel in Brunswick on Thursday June 9th. Full band, new tunes, and all kinds of fun to be had.

In other strange news, I'll also be playing a DJ set next Thursday June 12th at Catfish Bar, Fitzroy, from around 8:00pm. Come down and hear me spin some tunes from my vinyl collection.

Postal

Our next show is going to be at The Post Office Hotel in Coburg on Sunday May 1st from 4:30pm. That's right, a late afternoon set - just like the closing set at a festival, only at a very cool pub with air-conditioning and less mud and probably less scent of patchouli. We'll be playing two sets as well, so come and hear some choice covers and songs we don't always get to play.

Cats

I've got a show coming up, and it's gonna be a good one. Come down to The Catfish Bar in Fitzroy on Friday April 15th to catch what I reckon is a pretty awesome lineup of myself and the boys, Lachlan Bryan and The Wildes, and also Cat Canteri, who's playing a very special solo set. The cover is only $10, and doors are at 8:00pm. It's the first time in a while that me and the band have headlined a cover charge show, so I hope you can come out and show your support. We'll be doing our best to put on a good show for you.

Plough

Here's an interesting thing: I'm involved in a new Podcast with my mate Rohan Nichol called 'The Plough'. It's a music podcast too, no less, where we discuss and rant about our favourite records, and include excerpts from the albums too. We're aiming to put out a new one every month, and the first one is out now! You can check it out over on our website theploughpodcast.com or if you've got the podcast app on your smartphone or tablet, do a search for 'the plough' and we should come up.

The first episode is focusing on a great record, Scott Walker's 'Scott 4' from 1969. A good year for music, that one.
