Deejay

Our next headline show is going to be at The Retreat Hotel in Brunswick on Thursday June 9th. Full band, new tunes, and all kinds of fun to be had.

In other strange news, I'll also be playing a DJ set next Thursday June 12th at Catfish Bar, Fitzroy, from around 8:00pm. Come down and hear me spin some tunes from my vinyl collection.

Postal

Our next show is going to be at The Post Office Hotel in Coburg on Sunday May 1st from 4:30pm. That's right, a late afternoon set - just like the closing set at a festival, only at a very cool pub with air-conditioning and less mud and probably less scent of patchouli. We'll be playing two sets as well, so come and hear some choice covers and songs we don't always get to play.

Cats

I've got a show coming up, and it's gonna be a good one. Come down to The Catfish Bar in Fitzroy on Friday April 15th to catch what I reckon is a pretty awesome lineup of myself and the boys, Lachlan Bryan and The Wildes, and also Cat Canteri, who's playing a very special solo set. The cover is only $10, and doors are at 8:00pm. It's the first time in a while that me and the band have headlined a cover charge show, so I hope you can come out and show your support. We'll be doing our best to put on a good show for you.

Plough

Here's an interesting thing: I'm involved in a new Podcast with my mate Rohan Nichol called 'The Plough'. It's a music podcast too, no less, where we discuss and rant about our favourite records, and include excerpts from the albums too. We're aiming to put out a new one every month, and the first one is out now! You can check it out over on our website theploughpodcast.com or if you've got the podcast app on your smartphone or tablet, do a search for 'the plough' and we should come up.

The first episode is focusing on a great record, Scott Walker's 'Scott 4' from 1969. A good year for music, that one.

Tactical

Next show coming up is at The Retreat Hotel in Brunswick on Thursday March 10th. Dirt Hand will be opening up at 8:30 with an acoustic set, then the boys and I will tear into the full band trip for two full sets afterwards. We'll be adding at least an extra 30 seconds to each guitar solo, just because it's a Thursday night. Get on down there.

Union

The next show is at The Union Hotel in Brunswick on Saturday Feb 20th, and will consist of two sets with the band from 5:00pm. Free entry too, and a grand room to check out some live music and watch those notes ping around the rafters.

The Pozible campaign for 'Warm Evenings, Pale Mornings' ends real soon, so if you've already signed up to purchase a pre-release copy of this compilation by great Melbourne singer-songwriters then thank-you! If not, there's still time, so for more info head on over to the campaign page here.

Squares

My first gig of the year is this week, at Federation Square in the heart of Melbourne City from 5:30pm Thursday Feb 4th. It's part of the Fed Square Live free music series and is sponsored by my online distributor, Ditto Music. It's an acoustic vibe, so I'll be playing solo, with other acts Luke Biscan and Demi Louise, so it should be pretty good.

I'm also involved in a crowdfunding project at the moment called "Warm Evenings, Pale Mornings", which is looking to record a compilation of Melbourne singer-songwriters covering each other's songs. It's put together by Brooke Russell and The Aviary Studios, and needs your help, if you can spare it.

Warm Evenings

There's projects afoot, and this is an exciting one. It's originated from the creative brain of my friend Brooke Russell and the team at The Aviary Studios, and I'll be a part of it. It's an album project where 10 Melbourne-based singer-songwriters perform each others songs for a compilation project entitled 'Warm Evenings, Pale Mornings'. It's meant to showcase the best alternative country/Americana songwriting that this city has to offer, so it's very nice to be asked to be a part of it. However, it also needs a bit of that ol' crowdfunding magic to get it off the ground, and pre-ordering a copy of the record (vinyl and digital download!) is just one way of being able to help. You can get more info here at the project's Pozible page, which has heaps of info about the project, and also lays out the different ways that you can be involved.

It's a great lineup of artists too, including:

Luke Sinclair (Raised by Eagles)
Joshua Seymour
James Kenyon
Suzannah Espie
Dan Waters
Tobias Hengeveld
Dan Parsons
Emilee South
Dan Parsons
Brooke Russell
and myself.

Check out the project video too:

Anything you can do to help would be much appreciated, so if you like the sounds of this project, please head over here to the Pozible page! Thank you!
